Built specifically for trailers that operate in marine environments, this 12" drum brake kit from Dexter features free-backing drum brakes with E-Coat corrosion protection — a process that applies a uniform, paint-over-ready coating to the drums for lasting resistance against moisture, salt, and the conditions that accelerate rust on standard brake hardware.
Every component in this kit is selected for durability in wet environments: an aluminum wheel cylinder resists corrosion where steel would fail, stainless steel springs maintain tension without rusting, and brake pads are bonded and riveted to the backing plate using bronze rivets for a secure, corrosion-resistant hold. This kit covers one complete axle — both wheels — in a single purchase.
