The Volvo Penta 1161277 Sealant is a genuine OEM black silicone sealing compound used for sealing and bonding components across Volvo Penta marine engines and driveline systems.
This is a single-component RTV silicone that cures at ambient temperature to form a durable, flexible, oil-resistant seal. It is designed for use in areas where traditional gaskets are not used or where additional sealing support is required—such as mating surfaces, housings, covers, and threaded components.
Once cured, the sealant forms a strong elastic seal capable of withstanding vibration, thermal expansion, and exposure to marine fluids including oil, coolant, and fuel vapors. It adheres effectively to metal, rubber, glass, and most plastics, making it highly versatile for marine service work.
The operating temperature range of approximately –65°C to +200°C allows it to be used in both cold-start environments and high-heat engine applications.
