The Lewmar Pro-Series 1000H is a horizontal electric anchor windlass built for above-deck installation on boats requiring a compact, high-performance rope-and-chain system. With a 100% 316 stainless steel case, 12V motor, and power-out with manual free-fall capability, it delivers fast, controlled anchor handling with a complete DIY-ready kit.

- Chain: 5/16" G40/G43 high-test — G40 or G43 grade required; G30 proof coil will not feed correctly

- Power-out vs. powered-down: This model has power-out with manual free fall — the motor drives the anchor up and allows free-fall deployment by gravity. This is different from a fully powered-down model where the motor controls both directions. Confirm which deployment method suits your anchoring style before ordering.
- Chain grade matters: This kit is calibrated for 5/16" G40/G43 chain. G30 proof coil chain will not feed correctly through the gypsy — confirm your chain grade before ordering.
- Rope-chain splice quality: The transition between rope and chain must be properly spliced and sized. A poorly made or oversized splice will jam at the gypsy and prevent the rode from feeding. Have the splice inspected or made by a rigger if you’re unsure.
- Above-deck installation: Confirm bow roller alignment, anchor locker depth, and rode fall before mounting. The rode must drop freely into the locker without piling up under the gypsy.
- Dual-direction solenoid included: Unlike some kits, this one includes the dual-direction solenoid — confirm your helm and deck switch wiring layout before installation.
