- Chain sizing is critical: The V700 gypsy is calibrated for specific chain grades and diameters — confirm your chain spec (size, grade, and DIN standard) before ordering. Using uncalibrated or wrong-grade chain causes slippage, jamming, and accelerated gypsy wear.
- Chain counter ready: The reed switch and magnet are fitted as standard, but a chain counter display is not included. If you want a chain counter readout at the helm, ask the parts desk about compatible Lewmar or third-party display options.
- Contactor and breaker included: Unlike some windlass kits, the V700 kit includes the contactor and circuit breaker — confirm your electrical panel layout before installation to ensure the breaker can be properly integrated.
- Deck thickness and gasket: The base gasket seal is included. Confirm your deck thickness and core material before installation — cored decks require proper backing plate treatment to prevent water ingress and compression failure under load.
