Before selecting parts
Identify the engine you have
Use the complete identification to select the correct generation, diagram and replacement part.
153-cubic-inch identity
The OEM guide identifies 120 and 2.5L as 153-cubic-inch four-cylinder applications. The larger 3.0L/140 is catalogued separately.
Carburetor & serial
Carburetor models and calibration vary within this range. Select the exact assembly and serial-specific notes rather than using one universal production endpoint.
Cooling & propulsion
Identify the installed cooling, ignition, drive and transom equipment. Engine and propulsion assemblies require their respective identification.
3.0L/140, 3.7L/470, Mercury 2.5L outboards and OMC 120 applications require separate parts matching.
Send the complete engine-plate details and clear old-part photos. Match the installed fuel and cooling equipment, and include the separate drive or marine-gear plate when asking about those assemblies.
Documented installations
Boat examples
These examples describe documented engine options or installations. Boats may have been repowered or modified; an example does not establish present-day parts compatibility.
