Legacy GL and GS carbureted engines need the exact carburetor, distributor and full engine designation when selecting fuel or ignition parts.

GXiC configuration

The separately introduced GXiC is injected and catalyzed. Keep that configuration distinct from earlier carbureted engines.

Drive & cooling

Identify the installed drive, transom and cooling arrangement. Use each assembly identification for its own parts selection.

A Volvo Penta 3.0L name does not establish compatibility with MerCruiser 3.0L parts or a different Volvo fuel-system version.

Send the complete engine-plate details and clear old-part photos. Match the installed fuel and cooling equipment, and include the separate drive or marine-gear plate when asking about those assemblies.
