Identify the engine you have

Use the complete identification to select the correct generation, diagram and replacement part.

Fuel-system designation

The documented 2006 range separates two-barrel GL and multi-port-injected GXi configurations. Earlier Gi versions need their own complete designation and injection-system match.

Catalyst & cooling

GXiC catalyst versions are separately identified. Check installed exhaust, ignition and cooling equipment before selecting the relevant assembly.

Engine & drive identity

The GM-based 305-cubic-inch family is distinct from Ford-based 5.0 FL/Fi engines. Identify the drive and transom assemblies separately.

Ford-based 5.0 FL/Fi and newer 5.3L direct-injection engines do not share a fitment promise with this family.

Send the complete engine-plate details and clear old-part photos. Match the installed fuel and cooling equipment, and include the separate drive or marine-gear plate when asking about those assemblies.
