Gi / GXi versions

Documented 8.1L Gi and GXi versions use multi-port injection and have different specifications. Match the full suffix rather than a single power badge.

Catalyst & cooling

Catalyst and cooling configurations require their exact model-specific assemblies. Confirm the actual equipment before choosing exhaust or service parts.

Drive or inboard package

Identify the drive, transom or marine gear separately. Do not carry parts selections from a sterndrive package to an inboard arrangement automatically.

The 8.1L range is separate from 6.0L MPI and newer 6.2L direct-injection V8 engines, and from MerCruiser 8.1L applications.

Send the complete engine-plate details and clear old-part photos. Match the installed fuel and cooling equipment, and include the separate drive or marine-gear plate when asking about those assemblies.
