Identify the engine you have

Use the complete identification to select the correct generation, diagram and replacement part.

Engine sizes

MD2010 has two cylinders; MD2020, MD2030 and MD2040 have three. These pre-chamber engines use glow plugs and freshwater heat-exchanger cooling.

A / B / C / D versions

The workshop documentation separates electrical, heat-exchanger, sump and transmission-related revisions. Preserve the complete suffix when selecting the relevant assembly.

Separate transmission identity

Record the saildrive or reverse-gear designation, product number, serial number and ratio. Engine and transmission parts require their own identification.

Do not assume a service part fits all four engine sizes or all A, B, C and D versions. Later D1/D2 engines need a separate selection.

Send the complete engine-plate details and clear old-part photos. Match the installed fuel and cooling equipment, and include the separate drive or marine-gear plate when asking about those assemblies.
