Volvo Penta

TAMD71–75 engine parts

TAMD71 / TAMD72 / TAMD73 / TAMD74 / TAMD75

Find parts for the legacy Volvo Penta TAMD71–75 inboard-diesel range. This grouping spans several engine and control-system revisions; use the full designation and serial number to select the exact assembly.

Service & maintenance

Start your parts search

Collections are browsing aids and include parts for other engines. Confirm the complete model, serial number and exact assembly before ordering.

Browse by system

Find your service category

These broader collections help you browse. A category link does not confirm engine-specific compatibility.

Before selecting parts

Identify the engine you have

Use the complete identification to select the correct generation, diagram and replacement part.

71 / 72 versions

TAMD71A and 71B have internal and injection differences. TAMD72WJ-A is a waterjet version; TAMD72P-A uses EDC. Do not assume every TAMD72 has mechanical controls.

73 / 74 / 75 revisions

Retain rating letters and version suffixes. Volvo describes TAMD75 as a development of TAMD74 with revised injection, charge-air cooling and enhanced EDC.

Cooling & reverse gear

Match fuel, electrical and cooling equipment to the complete engine model. Identify the reverse gear or waterjet separately.

No single displacement, power rating or control-system description applies to every model in this grouping.

Send the complete engine-plate details and clear old-part photos. Match the installed fuel and cooling equipment, and include the separate drive or marine-gear plate when asking about those assemblies.

Documented installations

Boat examples

These examples describe documented engine options or installations. Boats may have been repowered or modified; an example does not establish present-day parts compatibility.

Storebro 420 Biscay, documented test boat

Volvo describes an original twin-TAMD74L shaft installation in its 2006 D6 comparison report.
