Identify the engine you have

Use the complete identification to select the correct generation, diagram and replacement part.

Direct injection & generation

The newer V6 range uses direct injection, variable valve timing and closed freshwater cooling. Keep the complete engine designation and serial number.

Power badge & suffix

Early documented V6-200-C and V6-240-C versions differ from later model offerings. A V6 power badge alone does not identify the engine generation.

Installed package

SX, DPS, OceanX and Forward Drive packages require their own identification. Match catalyst, controls, cooling and drive hardware to the actual installation.

Legacy cast-iron 4.3L GL/Gi/GXi parts must not be selected for this newer direct-injection family solely by displacement.

Send the complete engine-plate details and clear old-part photos. Match the installed fuel and cooling equipment, and include the separate drive or marine-gear plate when asking about those assemblies.
