This aluminum sacrificial anode kit provides complete galvanic corrosion protection for MerCruiser Bravo Two and Bravo Three sterndrives. Sacrificial anodes protect your sterndrive’s aluminum and metal components by corroding preferentially in place of the drive itself — a critical maintenance item for any vessel kept in saltwater or brackish water.
Aluminum anodes are the correct choice for saltwater and brackish water environments, offering superior protection compared to zinc anodes in mixed or low-salinity conditions. The kit covers the full sterndrive anode set, making it a straightforward replacement at annual haul-out or whenever anodes are depleted to 50% or less of their original size.

Best Use Case: This kit is the correct annual maintenance item for Bravo Two and Bravo Three sterndrives operating in saltwater or brackish water. Replace anodes when they’ve depleted to approximately half their original size — waiting until they’re fully consumed leaves your drive unprotected and risks expensive corrosion damage to the sterndrive housing, trim tabs, and transom plate. Aluminum anodes are the preferred choice over zinc in most coastal Canadian and Pacific Northwest waters where salinity varies — they outperform zinc in brackish and mixed-salinity conditions. If your vessel is kept exclusively in freshwater, magnesium anodes are the correct choice instead. Confirm your sterndrive model is the Bravo Two or Bravo Three before ordering — the Bravo One uses a different anode kit.
Installation Note: Clean all anode mounting surfaces to bare metal before installing new anodes. Do not paint anodes — any coating will prevent them from functioning. Torque all anode fasteners to specification to ensure good electrical contact.
