Ultra Heavy-Duty Tinned Copper Battery Lugs for 4/0 AWG Cable
When you’re working with 4/0 AWG — the largest common marine cable gauge — connection quality is everything. These Ancor Marine Grade™ tinned copper battery lugs are built for the job, delivering maximum current flow through pure copper construction and long-term corrosion resistance through tin plating. The 5/16" fastener hole fits standard marine battery post bolts and alternator terminals, while the closed-end barrel seals the cable entry against moisture intrusion for a connection that holds up in the harshest marine environments.
Sold as a 2-pack, these lugs are ideal for completing a single battery cable run — one lug at each end.
Compatible Applications
- Marine battery bank connections on 4/0 AWG cable
- Alternator output and charge cable terminations
- High-capacity inverter and charger wiring
- Windlass and bow thruster power feeds
- Main engine starting cable terminations
- Heavy-duty DC distribution systems

🔧 Parts Desk Insights
Best use case: This is the lug for your heaviest cable runs — engine starting cables, main battery feeds, and high-draw equipment like windlasses and large inverters where 4/0 AWG is specified. The 5/16" fastener hole is the standard size for most marine battery post bolts and alternator output studs, making this a direct fit for the majority of installations. If your battery post uses a 3/8" or 1/2" bolt, you’ll need the corresponding fastener size. Tin plating simplifies soldering and ensures conductivity holds up even after years of exposure to bilge moisture and salt air.
