The ARCO IP003 is designed for circulating-water pumps originally equipped with Johnson Pump impeller 09-45825. It may also be used where Sierra 18-3089 is specified as the replacement impeller.

When This Part Needs Replacement
Replace the impeller when:
- Cooling-water flow becomes weak or inconsistent

Installation Notes
- Shut down the engine and disconnect the battery.
- Close the raw-water intake seacock where fitted.
- Note the pump-cover orientation before disassembly.
- Remove the old impeller without damaging the housing or shaft.
- Inspect the cover plate, cam, shaft and pump body for scoring or wear.
- Locate any missing pieces from the old impeller.
- Lubricate the replacement impeller with a suitable impeller-installation lubricant.
- Align the hub carefully with the pump shaft.
- Replace the cover gasket or sealing component where required.
- Tighten the cover fasteners evenly.
- Restore the water supply before starting the engine.
- Confirm proper water flow and inspect the pump for leaks immediately after startup.
A worn, distorted or heavily scored pump housing may require additional pump service rather than an impeller replacement alone.
