The short straight inlet is the right choice when your livewell or baitwell has limited depth below the pump mount — the compact inlet profile fits where a long straight or 90° inlet won’t clear. The MK 2 cartridge system is the standout feature here: when the motor eventually needs service, you pull the cartridge out with one hand and drop in a replacement, keeping downtime to a minimum on the water. If your installation requires a different inlet orientation, the same MK 2 platform is available with a Long Straight Inlet (56604) or a 90° Inlet (56544).
