The Attwood 90707 PowerGuard Pro is a heavy-duty marine battery box designed to fit Group 24 and Group 27 batteries. Built from UV-resistant polypropylene composite, it handles the weight of lead-acid battery cells without flexing or cracking, and resists acid run-off and sun damage over time. The snap-lock lid stays secure under wave action and vibration, while the bi-directional terminal access panels on both sides of the box allow you to route cables cleanly regardless of your installation orientation.
Top-facing ventilation channels direct rain and splash away from the battery rather than into the box, keeping flooded lead-acid batteries safely vented without exposing them to water ingress. Free-play reduction blocks inside the box hold Group 24 series batteries snugly, preventing movement that can damage terminals or the box itself. Reinforced steel mounting feet and a buckled strap keep the box anchored to the deck under heavy conditions, and folding terminal entry panels let you run wiring without removing the strap.

Best Use Case: Best suited for flooded lead-acid (wet cell) Group 24 or Group 27 batteries installed in open or semi-exposed deck locations where a secure, vented enclosure is needed. The reinforced mounting hardware and snap-lock lid make it a strong choice for high-vibration or rough-water applications. The bi-directional panel design is particularly useful in tight engine compartments or bilge areas where cable routing direction is constrained.

If you are installing a sealed AGM or gel battery, a non-vented box is more appropriate. The free-play reduction blocks are sized for Group 24 cells; Group 27 batteries will fit the box but may have slightly more movement — this is normal for the dual-group design.
