The J6C is a legacy marine plug that remains in production because of the large installed base of older 2-stroke outboards that specify it. If your engine manual calls for a J6C, this is the correct part — don't substitute a resistor plug without confirming your ignition system is compatible, as some older 2-stroke systems can misfire with a resistor plug installed.
