Clean In-Hull Depth Sensing — No Hull Penetration Required
The Faria SN2060A is an in-hull transducer designed to work with Faria digital depth sounders, providing reliable depth readings through the hull without drilling a hole below the waterline. Properly positioned inside a fiberglass hull, it delivers solid high-speed performance — making it a practical choice for powerboats where a transom or thru-hull installation isn't preferred.
Key Features
- In-Hull Mounting — Installs inside the hull using epoxy or transducer oil; no through-hull fitting or below-waterline drilling required
- High-Speed Performance — Tuned for reliable depth readings at planing speeds when correctly positioned in a solid, void-free section of the hull
- Compatible with Faria Digital Depth Sounders — Designed to pair with the Faria Euro and Chesapeake series in-hull depth sounder models
- Fiberglass Hull Compatible — Works through single-layer fiberglass hulls; not suitable for cored, foam-filled, or multi-layer composite hulls
- Compact and Lightweight — Low-profile design fits in tight bilge spaces without interfering with other hull components
Best Use Case
The SN2060A is the right transducer when you want depth sounder capability without a transom or thru-hull installation — particularly on trailered powerboats, runabouts, and bass boats with solid fiberglass hulls where keeping the exterior hull clean and undamaged is a priority. It pairs directly with the Faria in-hull depth sounder models:
- Faria Euro Black Digital Depth Sounder – In-Hull (FAR 12851)
- Faria Chesapeake Black Digital Depth Sounder – In-Hull (FAR 13751)
- Faria Chesapeake White S/S Digital Depth Sounder – In-Hull (FAR 13851)
If you prefer a transom-mount or thru-hull installation, the matching Faria depth sounders are also available with those transducer configurations — see the full depth sounder lineup.
Parts Desk Insights
Best for: Boaters with solid single-layer fiberglass hulls who want to add a Faria depth sounder without any exterior hull work. This is the cleanest installation option for trailered boats where transom-mount transducers can be vulnerable to damage during launching and retrieval.
Hull compatibility is critical: In-hull transducers only work through solid, void-free fiberglass. If your hull has a foam core, balsa core, or any air gaps between layers, the signal will not pass through reliably. When in doubt, test with a transducer oil-filled bag before committing to a permanent epoxy installation.
Placement matters: Position the transducer as far aft as possible on the centerline, in a section of hull that stays submerged at speed and is free of strakes, ribs, and air pockets. A poor placement location is the most common cause of signal loss at high speed — take time to test position before final installation.
Installation method: Most installers use mineral oil or dedicated transducer oil in a temporary test cup first, then epoxy for the permanent mount once the ideal location is confirmed. Do not use silicone — it can block the signal.
