The Forespar Sta-Plug is a modern emergency plug designed to quickly seal hull breaches, damaged thru-hulls, and leaking pipes on any vessel. Soft, cone-shaped, and coated with a flexible sealer, it compresses by hand to fit into holes of varying sizes — from a small puncture to a larger collision tear — without tools and without delay.

Best use case: The Sta-Plug is the right emergency plug to keep aboard any vessel as a first-response tool for unexpected water ingress. Unlike traditional tapered wooden plugs — which are rigid and only fit a specific hole size — the Sta-Plug’s soft foam cone adapts to irregular shapes and can be cut down for smaller openings, making it far more versatile in a real emergency. It’s particularly effective for sealing around damaged thru-hull fittings and seacocks where a rigid plug won’t seat properly. Best practice is to keep at least one Sta-Plug tied or mounted near each thru-hull on the vessel so it’s immediately accessible if a fitting fails. It also serves as a temporary maintenance plug when servicing valves and thru-hulls out of the water.
