Garmin GMS 10 — Marine Network Port Expander

The GMS 10 is a Garmin Marine Network port expander that adds four additional Ethernet ports to your onboard Garmin network — allowing you to connect more chartplotters, radar modules, sonar modules, and other Garmin Marine Network devices than a single display’s built-in ports can support.

As Garmin helm systems grow to include multiple displays, black-box radar, sonar, and other networked devices, the GMS 10 provides the connectivity backbone to tie it all together cleanly. It integrates directly into the Garmin Marine Network without requiring additional configuration, keeping your multi-device setup simple and reliable.

Parts Desk Insights

Best Use Case: The GMS 10 is the right solution when you’re building or expanding a multi-device Garmin helm and you’ve run out of Ethernet ports on your chartplotter or existing network. It’s most commonly needed on larger vessels with two or more chartplotter displays, a black-box radar module (such as the GMR xHD2), and a sonar module (such as the GSD 24) — all of which require Garmin Marine Network connections. If you’re planning a helm build with three or more networked Garmin devices, budget for the GMS 10 from the start rather than discovering the port limitation mid-install. Confirm all devices you intend to connect are Garmin Marine Network (Ethernet) compatible — NMEA 2000 devices connect separately and do not use the GMS 10.

Installation Note: Mount in a dry, accessible location near the helm electronics. Use quality shielded Ethernet cable for all connections to minimize interference in the marine environment.

Estimated Packaging: Box approximately 8" × 6" × 4" (20 × 15 × 10 cm), approx. 0.6 kg shipped.
