Before installation, verify hull material, mounting location, hull thickness, cable routing, voltage, circuit protection, controller compatibility, sealant requirements, and underwater clearance. Aluminum hulls require isolation from the bronze housing to reduce galvanic corrosion risk.
When This Product Needs Replacement
Replace an underwater light if the lens is cracked, the housing is damaged, the fixture shows water intrusion, the LEDs fail, colour output becomes inconsistent, wiring is damaged, or corrosion compromises the sealing area. Replacement may also be required when upgrading from single-colour or dual-colour lighting to RGBW control.
Inspect underwater lights during haul-out for marine growth, lens damage, mounting fastener condition, cable strain, sealant failure, and signs of galvanic activity around the mounting area.
Installation Notes
Install only according to the current Hella Marine installation instructions. The mounting surface must be clean, fair, structurally sound, and appropriate for through-hull cable routing. Use marine-grade sealing practices and confirm that the fixture is properly bedded, fastened, fused, and connected to a suitable 12V or 24V DC circuit.
For RGBW installations, confirm the control system and wiring layout before mounting the light.
