The Ritchie SS-2000 is the large-format flagship of the Hi-Performance compass line — a premium gimballed magnetic compass built for serious offshore use. With a 4.5" high-visibility blue card and extra-large white numerals, it delivers the largest, most readable heading display in the Ritchie Hi-Performance range, combined with the internal gimbal system that keeps the card level and accurate through pitch and roll in open-water conditions.
Built on Ritchie's precision sapphire jewel and hardened steel pivot movement with DirectiveForce magnets for fast heading lock-on, the SS-2000 is the right choice when maximum readability and stability are both non-negotiable — on a race course, an offshore fishing boat, or a bluewater passage maker. The 4.5" card is the same size as the Navigator FN-201/FN-203 flush-mount series, but the SS-2000 adds the internal gimbal for offshore stability. If you're outfitting a serious bluewater boat and want the best combination of readability and rough-water performance in the Ritchie lineup, the SS-2000 is the top of the Hi-Performance range. For calmer inshore or coastal use where the gimbal isn't needed, the Navigator FN-201 or FN-203 offer the same 4.5" card at a lower price point.
