Bilgekote is the right product when you want to make your bilge easier to keep clean and protect the underlying fiberglass or wood from oil and fuel contamination. A coated bilge is dramatically easier to wipe down than a bare fiberglass surface — oil and sludge sit on top of the coating rather than soaking in. Gray is the most practical color for bilge use as it makes it easier to spot oil sheen, water intrusion, and debris against the light-colored surface. Apply when the bilge is clean and dry for best adhesion.
