The Jabsco 1210-0001-P is a 12-blade neoprene flexible impeller kit for compatible marine engine-cooling, fresh-water transfer, salt-water transfer and general-purpose bronze pumps. It features a brass spline-drive hub and measures approximately 2-1/4 inches in diameter by 1-1/4 inches wide. Neoprene is the standard compound for raw-water cooling and water-transfer applications where exposure to oil or diesel fuel is minimal.

Do not confuse this impeller with the 1210-0003-P nitrile impeller kit. Both versions share the same dimensions and spline-drive configuration, but the 1210-0001-P is neoprene for engine cooling and water transfer, while the 1210-0003-P is nitrile for bilge or transfer applications involving heavier oil and diesel contamination.
When This Part Needs Replacement
Replace the impeller when:
- Raw-water or exhaust-water flow becomes weak
- Engine or generator temperature begins rising
- The pump becomes difficult to prime
- The blades are cracked, hardened or permanently curved
- Blade tips are torn or missing
- The brass spline hub becomes loose or damaged
- The pump has operated dry
- Annual preventive cooling-system service is due
A flexible impeller should be replaced preventively rather than being operated until the blades fail and enter the cooling system.
Installation Notes
- Stop the engine and isolate the starting circuit.
- Close the raw-water intake seacock.
- Remove the pump end cover and old gasket or O-ring.
- Pull the old impeller by gripping the hub with a suitable removal tool or pliers.
- Do not pry against the pump face with a screwdriver.
- Recover missing blade fragments from hoses, oil coolers and heat exchangers.
- Inspect the pump bore, cam, cover plate, shaft and splines.
- Apply a light coating of suitable lubricant to the impeller bore and blades.
- Align the brass spline hub carefully with the pump shaft.
- Install the correct spline seal and cover sealing component.
- Reopen the seacock and verify strong water flow immediately after startup.
A light coating of lubricant assists installation and helps protect the impeller during initial dry priming.
