Product Description
The Jabsco 13554-0001-P is a large 12-blade neoprene flexible impeller kit for compatible marine raw-water cooling, bilge, transfer and general-purpose pumps. It features a brass 12-spline hub and is designed for fresh water, salt water and engine-cooling service where only limited oil or diesel contamination is present.

Do not confuse the 13554-0001-P with the Jabsco 1210-0001-P. Both are 12-blade, 2-1/4-inch-diameter impellers with a 5/8-inch spline hub, but the 1210 is only 1-1/4 inches wide, while the 13554 is nearly 1-29/32 inches wide.
When This Part Needs Replacement
Replace the impeller when:
- Exhaust-water discharge or pump output decreases
- Engine temperature begins rising
- The pump becomes difficult to prime
- The blades become cracked, hardened or permanently curved
- Blade tips are worn or missing
- The spline hub becomes loose or damaged
- The pump has operated dry
- Annual preventive cooling-system service is due
Jabsco guidance recommends replacing flexible impellers at least annually, or sooner according to engine duty and operating conditions.
Installation Notes
- Stop the engine and isolate the starting circuit.
- Close the raw-water intake seacock.
- Remove the pump cover and old sealing component.
- Pull the old impeller with a proper removal tool or pliers gripping the hub.
- Do not pry against the pump face with a screwdriver.
- Recover any missing vane fragments from hoses, coolers and heat exchangers.
- Inspect the pump bore, cam, cover plate, shaft and splines.
- Lubricate the replacement impeller before installation.
- Align the splined brass hub carefully with the pump shaft.
- Install the supplied seal and reinstall the cover.
- Reopen the seacock and confirm strong water flow immediately after startup.
Lubricating the impeller eases installation and protects it during the pump's initial prime.
