Fitment Notice
Before ordering, confirm all of the following match your pump’s existing impeller:
- 8 blades
- Outside diameter: 2-9/16 in. / 65 mm

- Shaft: 5/8 in. spline drive (not single-flat or keyed)

Service Interval
Inspect the impeller at each annual cooling-system service. Replace immediately when any of the following are observed:
- Reduced or absent raw-water flow at the exhaust outlet
- Rising engine coolant or raw-water temperature
- Pump fails to prime or primes slowly
- Blades cracked, hardened, permanently folded, or torn
- Blade tips missing — inspect all downstream hoses, coolers, and heat exchangers for fragments before fitting the new impeller
- Spline hub loose, damaged, or worn
- Pump has operated without adequate water supply (replace immediately)
- Annual preventive service interval reached
In high-duty commercial diesel service, twice-yearly inspection is prudent.
Installation Notes
- Stop the engine and isolate the starting circuit before beginning service
- Close the raw-water intake seacock
- Remove the pump cover, old gasket, and O-ring
- Use an impeller puller or firm grip with channel-lock pliers on the hub — do not pry against the pump face or housing
- Inspect the pump bore, cam surface, shaft splines, and cover plate for scoring or wear
- Recover all missing blade fragments from hoses, heat exchanger cores, and aftercoolers before fitting the new impeller
- Apply the included installation lubricant to the impeller blades and pump bore
- Align the spline hub with the pump shaft and press the impeller fully into the bore
- Install the new gasket and O-ring from the kit
- Reopen the seacock and verify strong water flow at the exhaust immediately after startup
Do not allow the pump to run dry. Neoprene impellers in large-format pumps can fail within seconds without water flow, and blade fragments in a large diesel cooling circuit are difficult to locate and remove.
