MC97 Rubber Compound
MC97 is Johnson Pump's premium neoprene-based compound offering improved resistance to heat, oil and common marine fluids compared to standard neoprene. It is the recommended compound for demanding continuous-duty and high-temperature applications.
Threaded Hub Advantage
The threaded hub allows the impeller to be extracted using the Johnson Pump threaded puller (09-47154-01) without damaging the pump housing or impeller blades. This is particularly valuable in high-volume service environments where rapid, clean impeller changes are required.
When to Replace the Impeller
Replace the F6 impeller if:
- Flow output becomes weak or intermittent
- The blades are cracked, torn, stiff or permanently set
- Rubber fragments are missing or found downstream
- The hub slips inside the impeller body
- The pump has been run dry
- The pump has operated in abrasive or chemically aggressive media
- The scheduled preventive-maintenance interval has been reached
Installation Notes
- Isolate the pump from power and fluid supply before servicing
- Remove the pump cover and inspect the housing bore and wear plate
- Use puller 09-47154-01 to extract the old threaded-hub impeller cleanly
- Inspect the housing for scoring, cracks or debris
- Lubricate the new impeller with clean water, glycerine or an approved assembly lubricant — never petroleum-based grease
- Insert the impeller with blades deflected in the correct rotational direction
- Reinstall the cover and gasket; replace the gasket if worn or compressed
- Prime the pump and confirm flow before returning to service
- Never run the pump dry
