An inline inlet strainer designed to protect livewell, baitwell, and washdown pumps from debris before it reaches the impeller or diaphragm. The transparent cover lets you check the screen condition at a glance without removing anything. When it’s time to clean, the KlickTite™ connectors release the entire unit tool-free — pull it out, rinse the stainless steel mesh screen, and click it back in. Three KlickTite connectors are included, covering both 1/2" and 3/4" hose sizes with extra flexibility for your installation.

The PUMProtector is the right addition to any livewell or baitwell plumbing run where debris, grass, or sediment could reach the pump — particularly on boats fishing in shallow, weedy, or silty water. Inline strainers sit in the supply line between the thru-hull fitting and the pump, catching debris before it can damage the pump’s internal components. This model includes three KlickTite connectors (two 1/2" and one 3/4"), giving you a spare 1/2" connector for dual-port installations or as a backup. If you only need one connector of each size, the Johnson Pump PUMProtector 2-Connector model is available at a lower price point. For a first line of defence at the hull, pair this strainer with the Johnson Pump 77125 Thru-Hull Intake Filter for two-stage debris protection. Compatible with the Johnson Pump Aqua Jet Baitwell Pump and the Johnson Pump Aqua O2 Aerator Pump range.
