This foot switch must be used with a contactor or contactor box — it is a low-current control switch only and does not carry the windlass motor load directly.

- Contactor required: This switch routes a low-current signal to the windlass contactor, which then switches the high-current motor circuit. Do not wire this switch directly to the windlass motor — confirm your contactor or contactor box is correctly sized and installed before connecting the foot switch.
- 12V and 24V compatible: The CHSX works with both 12V and 24V systems. Confirm your windlass system voltage and contactor wiring before installation — the switch coil voltage must match the contactor coil voltage.
- Stainless lid vs. composite lid: This is the stainless steel lid version. A composite lid version is also available — call the parts desk if you need the composite variant or want to confirm which fits your existing deck hardware.
- Deck mounting: The low-profile closed lid design is suited for high-traffic bow areas. Confirm the mounting location allows easy foot access while keeping the switch clear of anchor rode, chain, and deck hardware.
