A complete aluminum anode service kit for the Volvo Penta SX-A and DPS sterndrive. Aluminum is the correct sacrificial metal for saltwater and brackish water environments — it remains electrochemically active across a wider salinity range than zinc, making it the preferred choice wherever water salinity varies or drops below full oceanic levels.
Everything needed for a full anode replacement is included: both anode castings and the fastening hardware to complete the job in one go.

Aluminum outperforms zinc in mixed or lower-salinity environments because zinc can passivate — forming a surface layer that stops it from sacrificing — while aluminum stays active. If you’re in a river estuary, coastal inlet, or any water where salinity fluctuates, aluminum is the safer pick over zinc.
Replacing anodes as a complete kit at each haulout is best practice — partial replacements leave mismatched sacrifice rates across the drive and can result in uneven protection. If you operate in freshwater, see the Seachoice magnesium anode kit instead, as neither zinc nor aluminum provides effective protection in freshwater.
