Martyr CMX06AL Aluminum Streamline Shaft Anode
Protect your 1-3/8" prop shaft from galvanic corrosion with this precision-cast aluminum streamline shaft anode. Aluminum is the preferred sacrificial metal for saltwater and brackish water environments — it remains electrochemically active across a wider salinity range than zinc, making it the better choice wherever water salinity varies or drops below full oceanic levels.
The low-drag, hydrodynamic profile minimizes water resistance while the stainless steel Allen head screw locks the anode firmly in place for a rattle-free fit all season.

The CMX06AL is the best choice for 1-3/8" shafts in saltwater and brackish conditions. Aluminum outperforms zinc in mixed or lower-salinity water because zinc can passivate — forming a surface layer that stops it from sacrificing properly — while aluminum stays active. If you’re running in a river estuary, coastal inlet, or any water where salinity fluctuates, aluminum is the safer pick over zinc.
The 1-3/8" size is less commonly stocked at local marine retailers, so ordering ahead of a haulout is recommended. Always measure your shaft diameter with calipers before ordering — the 1-3/8" CMX06AL is a distinct size from the 1-1/4" CMX05AL and the 1-1/2" CMX07AL. For freshwater, use the CMX06M magnesium version.
