Martyr Grouper Hanging Anode with 15’ Cable – Zinc | Saltwater (CMGROUPER)
The Martyr CMGROUPER is a zinc grouper-style hanging anode designed to provide galvanic corrosion protection for vessels moored at a dock or marina slip in saltwater environments. Unlike drive or shaft anodes that mount directly to the vessel, the grouper anode is suspended in the water column via the included 15-foot cable, providing broad-area galvanic protection for the hull, running gear, and underwater metals of nearby vessels.
Zinc is the correct anode material for saltwater use. The grouper anode is particularly effective in marina environments where stray current corrosion and galvanic coupling between neighboring vessels can accelerate corrosion beyond what hull-mounted anodes alone can address.
Important: Do not connect this anode to a battery or any electrical source. This is a passive sacrificial anode only.

Parts Desk Insights
The grouper anode is the right choice for saltwater boaters who keep their vessel in a marina slip or at a dock and want supplemental galvanic protection beyond what hull-mounted anodes provide. It is especially useful in busy marinas where galvanic coupling between neighboring vessels can accelerate corrosion on underwater metals. Simply suspend the anode from the dock or vessel using the included 15-foot cable so it hangs in the water column near the hull. Do not connect to any electrical source — this is a passive sacrificial anode only. Replace when the anode has depleted to approximately half its original size. For hull-mounted and drive anodes, see the full range of Martyr Anodes in the sacrificial anodes collection.
