What This Kit Does
Raw water carries salt, minerals, and sediment directly through the engine block. Over time, these deposits build up as scale and internal corrosion inside the water jackets — reducing cooling efficiency and accelerating wear on the cast-iron block from the inside out. The MC-342 replaces raw water in the engine block’s cooling circuit with a closed antifreeze/coolant loop. A copper-alloy heat exchanger transfers heat from the closed coolant loop to the raw water circuit outside the engine, so the engine block never sees raw water again.
The side-mount exchanger design mounts along the side of the engine block rather than across the front, preserving forward engine-bay clearance — a common constraint on the 3.0L platform where top-mount units often won’t fit without modification.

Important: Half-System Design
This is a half-system kit. It converts the engine block to closed (fresh water) cooling, but the exhaust manifold and riser continue to be cooled by raw water. The manifold and riser should remain on their regular inspection and replacement schedule as they will continue to see raw water throughout the service life of the engine.
