Exact fitment depends on engine serial number range and generation. Mercury uses different charging-system components across Verado generations — visually similar alternators may not interchange. Confirm by engine serial number and the applicable parts diagram before ordering.
When Replacement Is Needed
This part may be needed when the charging system produces low or unstable voltage, the alternator develops bearing noise, electrical output is intermittent, or a charging-system fault is confirmed during diagnosis.
Installation Notes
Disconnect battery power before beginning. While replacing the alternator, inspect the serpentine belt, belt tensioner, pulley alignment, wiring terminals, and charging cables. Install and torque fasteners to the Mercury service specification, then verify charging voltage (13.5–14.8V at idle) after startup.
