This small filter installs in the idle air control passage of the throttle body, filtering and muffling bypass air entering the IAC circuit. A clean, properly installed IAC filter helps maintain smooth idle operation and protects the idle-air passage from contamination. Current Mercury replacement for 863829.

Is this the IAC valve or just the filter? This is the IAC air filter / muffler only — not the IAC valve itself. If the idle problem persists after replacing the filter, the IAC valve, throttle body, and related air passages should also be inspected before replacing other components.
Why are 2 included? Some MerCruiser throttle body assemblies use one filter per engine, while others may use two positions. Having two in a pack ensures you have what you need for a complete service, with a spare on hand.
