Mercury MerCruiser Quicksilver 26-14077 / 14077 is a genuine OEM bearing carrier oil seal used at the propeller-shaft bearing carrier on select MerCruiser sterndrives. Mercury Marine specifically lists this seal for MR, Alpha One, Alpha One SS, and Alpha One Gen II drives. In applicable gearcase diagrams, 14077 is identified as the inside bearing-carrier seal, helping retain gear lubricant and protect the gearcase from water intrusion around the propeller shaft.

Fitment Notice
Do not confuse 26-14077 with the neighboring outside bearing-carrier seal. In applicable Mercury gearcase diagrams:

- 8M0204670 – Outside seal, replacing earlier 26-76868
These seals occupy different positions in the bearing carrier and should not be treated as interchangeable. Confirm the sterndrive model, serial number, and gearcase diagram before ordering.
When This Part Needs Replacement
Replace the seal when there is gear lubricant leaking around the propeller shaft, evidence of water entering the gearcase, visible seal damage, hardened or deteriorated sealing lips, or whenever bearing-carrier service requires removal of the existing seal.
Milky or emulsified gear lubricant can indicate water intrusion and should prompt inspection of the complete propeller-shaft sealing arrangement.
Installation Notes
Inspect the propeller shaft where the seal lip rides for scoring, corrosion, fishing-line damage, or excessive wear before installing a new seal. Also inspect the bearing carrier and the adjoining outside seal while the assembly is apart.
Install the seal in the correct orientation and depth specified in the applicable Mercury service manual. Avoid damaging the sealing lip during installation and pressure-test the gearcase after service when required by the Mercury procedure.
