The Minn Kota Deckhand 40 Remote Switch is a dedicated control accessory for the Deckhand 40 electric anchor winch. It adds a remote switch point to your existing Deckhand 40 installation, allowing push-button anchor deploy and retrieve from a second location on the boat — without running back to the primary switch. Compact and straightforward to wire into an existing Deckhand 40 setup, this is the correct part when your winch is working but you need an additional or replacement control switch.
Note: This is a remote switch accessory only — the Deckhand 40 anchor winch unit, anchor, and rope are sold separately.

This switch is the right part when the Deckhand 40 winch itself is functioning correctly but the original control switch has failed, corroded, or you need a second control point at a different location on the boat — common on centre-console and pontoon layouts where the primary switch is at the helm but the anchor is deployed at the bow. It is not a universal anchor winch switch and will not work with other Minn Kota models or third-party winches without verification. If you are unsure whether your issue is the switch or the winch motor, test by jumping the motor terminals directly — if the motor runs, the switch is the fault and this part resolves it. If the motor does not run, the switch is not your problem. When wiring in, protect all connections with heat-shrink and marine-grade sealant given the exposure to water typical of an anchor installation.
