- LiFePO4 ā lithium-ion: Customers sometimes confuse the two. LiFePO4 is the safer, more thermally stable chemistry ā it does not have the thermal runaway risk associated with standard lithium-ion. This matters for enclosed marine installations.
- Charger compatibility is critical: This battery requires a lithium-compatible charger. Standard lead-acid chargers will not charge it correctly and may damage the BMS. NOCO GENIUS chargers are the recommended pairing.
- Hazmat shipping applies: Lithium batteries are subject to carrier restrictions and hazmat surcharges. Customers should expect extended lead times and potential shipping limitations depending on their location.
