The Midnight Blue wavelength excels at drawing zooplankton to the surface, which in turn attracts baitfish and the gamefish that feed on them. The wide 90° × 20° elliptical beam pattern maximises the lit area beneath the hull, making it particularly effective on fishing boats and cruisers in the 25–50 ft range with flat or semi-displacement hulls.
