Pettit Hydrocoat 1250 is a water-based ablative antifouling bottom paint that uses cuprous oxide as its active biocide. Its water-based formula offers significantly lower VOC content than solvent-based alternatives, with soap-and-water brush and roller cleanup. As an ablative (self-polishing) coating, the paint layer wears away gradually with water movement, continuously exposing fresh biocide and leaving no hard buildup between seasons.

Application Notes
- Apply by brush or roller; thin with water if needed per label directions
- Apply at least two coats for best coverage and protection
- Apply a barrier coat epoxy primer when applying over bare fiberglass or switching from a solvent-based system
- Allow each coat to dry per the label instructions before launching
- Stir thoroughly before and during application — biocide settles quickly
