Fitment Notice
Confirm whether the engine uses the Fuel Control Cell / FCC canister system before ordering. This kit is not the same as the PCM / Crusader 47047 returnless fuel filter element used on other fuel system layouts.
PCM and Crusader engines may use different fuel filters depending on model year, injection system, fuel system design, and production range. Verify by engine serial number and the filter being removed.
When This Part Needs Replacement
Replace the fuel filter and O-ring during scheduled fuel system service, when servicing the FCC canister, after contaminated fuel exposure, after long storage, or when the engine shows symptoms such as hard starting, hesitation, rough idle, surging, loss of power, or stalling under load.
Replacement is also recommended any time the FCC canister is opened, since the sealing O-ring should not be reused if it is flattened, swollen, cracked, cut, or fuel-hardened.
Installation Notes
Relieve fuel system pressure before service and work in a well-ventilated area away from sparks, flame, and hot surfaces. Open the FCC canister according to the engine service procedure, remove the old filter and O-ring, and clean the sealing surfaces before installation.
Install the new filter element and O-ring in the correct position. Reassemble the canister carefully, prime the fuel system as required, then check for leaks before returning the engine to service.
