ProMariner TruePower Plus 1200MS Modified Sine Wave Inverter – 06120
Product Description
The ProMariner TruePower Plus 1200MS converts power from a nominal 12-volt battery bank into 115-volt modified sine wave AC power for common onboard and mobile appliances. It provides 1,200 watts of continuous output, up to 2,400 watts of surge capacity and an integrated 30-amp automatic transfer switch that passes shore or generator power through to the connected AC circuits when external power is available. ProMariner identifies suitable loads including smartphones, laptops, coffee makers and electric grills.

Fitment Notice
Part number 06120 is the 1,200-watt modified sine wave model in the ProMariner TruePower Plus series. It is designed for a nominal 12-volt battery bank and must not be connected to a 24-volt or 48-volt system.
This product is an inverter with automatic AC pass-through. It does not contain a battery charger.
Modified sine wave power is not suitable for every appliance. Equipment that may require pure sine wave power includes:
- Variable-speed motors
- Induction motors
- Refrigerators and freezers
- Electronically controlled appliances
- Digital timers and clocks
- Medical equipment
- Certain battery chargers
- Sensitive audio and video equipment
Confirm waveform compatibility with the appliance manufacturer before connecting sensitive equipment.
Battery-Bank Requirements
At full output, a 1,200-watt inverter may draw approximately 110 amps or more from a 12-volt battery bank after conversion losses are considered. The installation must include:
- Adequate battery capacity
- Correctly sized marine-grade DC conductors
- Short battery-cable runs
- Properly rated overcurrent protection
- A suitable battery disconnect switch
- Secure and corrosion-free terminals
Available runtime depends on battery chemistry, usable amp-hour capacity, battery condition, appliance load and permitted depth of discharge.
Installation Notes
Install the inverter in a dry, ventilated compartment protected from:
- Direct spray and bilge water
- Battery gases
- Fuel vapours
- Excessive heat
- Physical damage
Use correctly sized marine-grade DC conductors and keep the cable run as short as practical. Install suitable overcurrent protection close to the battery bank and use a properly rated battery disconnect.
The integrated AC cable strain reliefs and front screw-terminal connections allow the AC wiring to be installed without ring terminals. AC input, output, grounding and branch-circuit protection must follow the ProMariner installation manual and applicable marine electrical requirements.
When This Product Needs Replacement
Inspect or replace the inverter if it:
- Repeatedly shuts down under loads it previously operated
- No longer produces stable AC output
- Fails to transfer shore or generator power correctly
- Displays recurring overload or temperature faults
- Has damaged GFCI outlets, terminals or cable connections
- Shows evidence of overheating, moisture intrusion or corrosion
- Produces unusual noise, odor or excessive heat
- Stops communicating with the remote panel
Before replacing the inverter, load-test the battery bank and inspect the DC fuse, disconnect switch, grounding, cable terminals and voltage drop.

Parts Desk Insight
The TruePower Plus 1200MS is the smallest modified sine wave model in this ProMariner series. It provides the same display, remote control and 30-amp automatic transfer system as the larger 1,500- and 2,000-watt versions, but in a more compact enclosure for moderate AC loads. For refrigeration, variable-speed equipment or sensitive electronics, choose a pure sine wave inverter instead.
