ProMariner TruePower Plus 1500MS Modified Sine Wave Inverter – 06150
Product Description
The ProMariner TruePower Plus 1500MS converts power from a nominal 12-volt battery bank into 115-volt modified sine wave AC power for common onboard and mobile appliances. It delivers 1,500 watts of continuous output and up to 3,000 watts of surge capacity, with an integrated 30-amp transfer switch that automatically passes shore or generator power through to the connected AC circuits when an acceptable external source is available. ProMariner identifies suitable loads including smartphones, laptops, coffee makers and electric grills.

Verify the available mounting space and required ventilation clearances against the current installation manual before installation.
Fitment Notice
Part number 06150 is the 1,500-watt modified sine wave version of the ProMariner TruePower Plus inverter. It is designed for a nominal 12-volt battery bank and must not be connected to a 24-volt or 48-volt system.
This model is an inverter with automatic AC pass-through. It does not contain a battery charger.
Modified sine wave power is not appropriate for every appliance. Equipment that may require pure sine wave power includes:
- Variable-speed motors
- Induction motors
- Certain refrigeration equipment
- Digital clocks and timers
- Medical equipment
- Electronically controlled appliances
- Some battery chargers
- Sensitive audio and video equipment
ProMariner states that pure sine wave models are better suited to digital electronics and induction motors. Confirm waveform compatibility with the appliance manufacturer before connecting sensitive equipment.
Battery-Bank Requirements
At full output, a 1,500-watt inverter may draw approximately 140 amps or more from a 12-volt battery bank after conversion losses are considered. The electrical system must therefore include:
- Adequate battery capacity
- Correctly sized marine-grade DC conductors
- Short battery-cable runs
- Properly rated overcurrent protection
- A suitable battery disconnect switch
- Secure, corrosion-free terminals
Runtime depends on battery chemistry, usable capacity, battery condition, appliance load and permitted depth of discharge.
Installation Notes
Install the inverter in a dry, ventilated compartment protected from:
- Direct spray or bilge water
- Battery gases
- Fuel vapours
- Excessive heat
- Loose equipment and physical damage
Use properly sized marine-grade conductors and keep the DC cable run as short as practical. All DC studs and cable hardware must be securely tightened, and the DC cables must be supported with suitable strain relief.
The automatic transfer switch passes external shore or generator power through to the connected AC circuits when an acceptable source is detected. AC input, output, grounding and branch-circuit protection must follow the current ProMariner manual and applicable marine electrical standards.
When This Product Needs Replacement
Inspect or replace the inverter if it:
- Repeatedly shuts down under loads it previously operated
- No longer produces stable AC output
- Fails to pass shore or generator power through correctly
- Displays recurring overload or temperature faults
- Has damaged GFCI outlets or DC terminals
- Shows heat damage, moisture intrusion or corrosion
- Produces unusual noise, odour or excessive heat
- Stops communicating with the remote panel
Before replacing the inverter, load-test the battery bank and inspect the DC fuse, disconnect switch, cable terminals, grounding and voltage drop.

Parts Desk Insight
The TruePower Plus 1500MS is a practical choice for conventional resistive loads and less-sensitive appliances where the cost of a pure sine wave inverter is not justified. For refrigeration, variable-speed equipment, induction motors or sensitive electronics, select a pure sine wave model instead.
