The Raymarine EV-200 Mechanical Linear Drive (T70158) is a complete Evolution autopilot system for power boats and motor yachts with mechanical steering. Everything needed for a full autopilot installation is included in the box: the EV1 Sensor Core, ACU-200 Actuator Control Unit, p70Rs control head, Type 1 Mechanical Linear Drive, and the EV1 cabling kit.
At the heart of the system is the EV1 Sensor Core — a 9-axis solid-state sensor that monitors pitch, roll, yaw and heading simultaneously. Unlike conventional heading sensors, the EV1 requires no compass calibration and can be installed above or below deck, upside-down, or off the vessel’s centreline, giving significant flexibility in tight engine rooms or helm stations.
The included p70Rs control head features a rotary knob interface suited to power-boat operation, with a bright optically bonded display and full LightHouse menu navigation. The ACU-200 drives the Type 1 Mechanical Linear Drive, which connects directly to the vessel’s mechanical steering system.

The EV-200 Mechanical Linear Drive is the right choice for power boats with mechanical (cable or rack-and-pinion) steering where a hydraulic system is not installed and not planned. If your vessel already has hydraulic steering, the EV-200 Hydraulic (T70157) is the correct system — the linear drive cannot be used with hydraulic steering. For smaller power boats or sailing yachts, the EV-100 family is worth considering before committing to the EV-200 drive capacity. Confirm your steering type and available mounting space for the linear drive before ordering.
