A heavy-duty stainless steel skeg guard designed to protect Volvo Penta SX and OMC Cobra SX sterndrive lower units from impact damage. The skeg on a sterndrive is just as vulnerable to grounding and debris strikes as an outboard skeg — and replacement or repair of a sterndrive lower unit is a significant expense. The Safe-Skeg mounts over the existing skeg and absorbs impact energy, protecting the factory skeg beneath it.
