Stack Two Rods. Keep Lines Clear with a Long Leader.
The Scotty 1191 Stacker Downrigger Release lets you fish a second rod off the same downrigger cable, placing a second line at a shallower depth above your weight. The key difference from the Scotty 1176 Stacker is the 48" leader β four feet of separation between the cable attachment point and your fishing line. This extended leader reduces the chance of the stacked line tangling with the main cable during trolling turns or speed changes, making it the preferred choice for anglers who experience line management issues with shorter-leader stackers.

Parts Desk Insights
The 1191 is the best stacker release for anglers who have experienced tangles between their stacked line and the main downrigger cable β a common issue when making tight turns or changing speed with a short-leader stacker. The 48" leader provides enough separation to keep lines clear in most trolling scenarios. If tangling isnβt a concern and you prefer a more compact setup, the Scotty 1176 Stacker with 6" leader or the Scotty 1160 Snapper Stacker are solid alternatives. For your primary line release, pair with the Scotty Power Grip Plus release or Scotty 1181 Mini Power Grip Plus.
