The Seachoice 22304 is a 10-micron replacement water-shedding fuel/water separator canister for outboard fuel systems. It installs with a simple twist-on/twist-off motion onto a compatible separator head and is designed to be used with a reusable clear collection bowl. At service time, keep the existing bowl and replace only the canister — no need to replace the entire separator assembly.
Canister only — does not include the clear collection bowl or complete separator assembly.
Compatible Applications
- 2-stroke outboard gasoline engines with compatible 11/16”-16 center-thread separator heads
- 4-stroke outboard gasoline engines with compatible 11/16”-16 center-thread separator heads
- Replacement canister for Seachoice 22303 water-separating fuel-filter assemblies
Fitment Notice: Confirm the existing separator head uses an 11/16”-16 center thread and is compatible with a reusable clear collection bowl before ordering. Seachoice 22306 is the compatible replacement clear bowl for this canister if the existing bowl also needs replacement.
When to Replace
- During annual or seasonal fuel-system maintenance
- When water or contamination is visible in the collection bowl
- When restricted fuel flow or hard starting may indicate a loaded filter element
Installation Notes
- Remove the reusable clear bowl from the old canister
- Inspect and clean the bowl and sealing surfaces; replace with 22306 if worn or damaged
- Thread the bowl onto the new 22304 canister (twist-on)
- Reinstall the assembly onto the separator head, prime the fuel system, and inspect all connections carefully for leaks before operating the engine

Parts Desk Insights
The 22304 is the canister only — not a complete separator assembly. The most common ordering mistake is not confirming that the existing separator head uses the 11/16”-16 thread size that this canister requires. At service time, inspect the clear collection bowl for cracks or seal wear; if it needs replacement, the Seachoice 22306 bowl kit is the compatible replacement. Cross-references to Racor S3213, Sierra 18-7919, Moeller 03331510, and Mercury 35-809097 make this a versatile service part across multiple separator brands.
