Seachoice 50-21011 Full-Flow Oil Filter – 20 Micron
Part Number: 50-21011 | SKU: 50-21011 | UPC: 719249210117
The Seachoice 50-21011 is a 20-micron full-flow spin-on oil filter for selected Mercury FourStroke and Yamaha 4-stroke outboard engines. It crosses directly to Sierra 18-7906-2 and to five successive Yamaha 69J-series OEM filter revisions, as well as three Mercury OEM numbers. Built with high-efficiency cellulose filter media, an epoxy-coated canister, reinforced body construction, heavy-duty end-cap seals, and an anti-drain-back valve, it meets or exceeds original equipment filtration requirements.

Fitment Note: Mercury and Yamaha use several similar-looking filters across their 4-stroke outboard lineups. Confirm your engine model, horsepower, model year, and existing OEM filter number before ordering. The most reliable confirmation method is matching one of the OEM cross-reference numbers listed below.
Service Interval
Replace at every scheduled engine oil service. Follow the outboard manufacturer’s recommended interval — typically every 100 hours or once per season, whichever comes first.
Installation Notes
- Remove the old filter and confirm the old gasket has come away with it — a retained gasket will cause an oil leak
- Clean the filter mounting surface
- Lightly coat the new filter gasket with fresh engine oil before threading it on
- Tighten by hand plus ¾ turn, or per engine manufacturer specification — do not over-tighten
- Run the engine and inspect for leaks before returning to service

Parts Desk Insights
Best Use Case: Routine oil changes on mid-size Mercury FourStroke and Yamaha 4-stroke outboards that use the 69J or 822626 filter family. This is one of the most common outboard oil filter applications — the five Yamaha 69J-13440 part numbers (revisions 00 through 04) all represent successive OEM updates to the same filter, and this Seachoice unit replaces all of them.
Common Issues: The most frequent ordering error is filter confusion across similar-looking outboard filters — Mercury and Yamaha both use multiple spin-on filter sizes across their 4-stroke lineups. Always confirm the existing filter’s part number rather than ordering by appearance. The Sierra 18-7906-2 cross-reference is the fastest way to confirm fit if a customer is unsure which Seachoice number they need.
