This line is best suited for small, calm-water anchoring — think kayaks, canoes, jon boats, and small aluminum fishing boats in lakes, rivers, and protected bays. The spring hook is designed to work with mushroom anchors and similar light-duty anchors. For boats over 14 feet or open-water use, we recommend stepping up to a heavier 3-strand nylon line with a proper thimble and shackle connection for better shock absorption and holding strength. This is a great backup or secondary anchor line to keep aboard for quick stops.
