Well nuts are a clever two-part fastener combining a rubber body with a brass threaded insert. When a bolt is tightened, the rubber barrel compresses and expands behind the mounting surface, creating a secure, vibration-resistant hold without requiring access to the back side of the panel.
The rubber body also acts as a gasket, sealing the hole against water intrusion — making well nuts a natural choice for marine installations where watertight integrity matters.
